The UNS CO2 Pro Cylinder is offered in 3 different sizes for convenience. 5LB, 10LB 20LB UNS Pro Cylinders can be refilled at any local gas or brewery supply retailer. Before use, ensure that the Pro Cylinder is filled by a professional and the valve is closed,. Next, install our recommended UNS CO2 Pro Regulator tightly to the cylinder and ensure that all regulator valves are closed including the UNS Manifold block(s). Open the Cylinder Pro valve all the way. Then, set the UNS CO2 Pro Regulator main valve to ~35psi and adjust the needle valve on the UNS Manifold Block according to your needs. Once set, there is no need to adjust the Cylinder Pro valve until CO2 has been depleted and the CO2 regulator reads 0psi.

CO2 reserves and depletion rate may vary depending on various external factors such as usage, aquarium plant requirements, and tank size.

Why CO2 injection is important in a planted tank: 3 main factors contribute to optimal growth of aquatic plants. These factors include, nutrients, light and carbon dioxide (CO2). If any of these are unbalanced, the results are algae growth or the withering of plants. The introduction of CO2 in a planted aquarium allows plants to thrive and grow more efficiently, while also giving them the ability to outcompete algae for nutrients.

No matter what type of planted aquarium setup you have, we recommend CO2 injection for better aquarium plant growth.
